Aparna Kolar

Aparna Kolar - (live performer) from Bangalor, India is a young dancer especially trained in Kathak (a classical temple dance form from north India) under Guru Smt Maya Rao and Guru Smt Chitra Venugopal. As part of the performing unit of the Natya STEM Dance Ensemble – a dance theatre company based in Bangalore headed by choreographer Madhu-Nataraj with a repertoire of both traditional and contemporary Indian forms. She has traveled and performed extensively at national and international dance festivals in India and USA. Aparna holds a post-graduate diploma in choreography from Natya Institute of Kathak and Choreography, Bangalore University. She is currently at the School for New Dance Development Amsterdam, Amsterdam to develop the dynamics within the non traditional spheres of movement and social reference points that are currently straddling between ‘tradition’ and ‘non-tradition.’
