Aka_bondage - (live performer): Since 1995 with his beginning at the centre of Osaka Bondage (1995-2002), Nicolas Marmin has created a singular musical universe using electronic manipulations, rhythmic deviations and experimental sonorities. He is using from time to time prepared bass, home made electronic mini-objects, computer devices, field recordings… Equally at ease with experimental and pop music, he has released several albums, participated on a number of compilations and has collaborated through live performances or other recordings with musicians as diverse as Erik M., Kasper Toeplitz, Alan Courtis (from the Argentinean band Reynols), the French Poet Michel Bulteau (Mahogany Brain), Italian activist Xabier Iriondo, hip-hop heads dDamage (some material to be released) or the great American story-teller Black Sifichi (Fear the windows-2005, produced by both Italian Label Wallace and French Ronda Label, together with Hugues Kilo). He has shortly been a regular participant of the Damo Suzuki's Network (Damo is the legendary singer of Can) with the French Doctors, the fine team he gathered with Olivier Manchion to carry sounds for Damo‘s “Tour de France” in 2005 (with members of Hubbub, Dragibus, Sun Plexus) and for Damo’s Italian Giro (w. members of Zu, Metaxu or Starfuckers). Nicolas also wrote some live and studio arrangements on “Law speed”, the first album of the avant-post-folk Quartet Permanent Fatal Error, a project led by Olivier Manchion (Ulan Bator). More recently he has joined stage with the group Colder (Output recordings) for which he has been performing live bass arrangements on more than 60 concerts. His latest contribution goes to Oleo Strut, another French-Italian project led by a collective of musicians playing “opened line-up free forms of music” : participating members included Alessandro Stefana, Guillaume Beauron, Xabier Iriondo or Ravi Shardja. Finally, Nicolas is one of the animators of the radio program ‘Epsilonia’ on Radio Libertaire in Paris, one of the oldest shows consecrated to experimental music in France.
