Maaike Bleeker

Maaike Bleeker - (dramaturgical advice) studied Art History (MA), Theatre Studies (MA) and Philosophy (MA) at the University of Amsterdam. She holds a PhD from the Amsterdam School for Cultural Analysis (ASCA). She lectured at Piet Zwart Post-Graduate program in Fine Arts (Rotterdam), The School for New Dance Development (Amsterdam) Arts, Performance, Theatricality (Antwerp), the Department of Theatre Studies of the University of Amsterdam, and the IPP Summer Program in Mainz. Currently, she is a professor of Theatre Studies at Utrecht University (The Netherlands). For the past twelve years, she has worked as a dramaturge with various directors, choreographers and visual artists. Her articles appeared in (among others) Performance Research, Theatre Research International, Performance Paradigm, Women & Performance,Visio, TanzDrama, as well as in various anthologies. She co-edited several books. Her book 'Visuality in the Theatre. The Locus of Looking' is forthcoming with Palgrave Macmillan and 'Anatomy that is Alive'(edited volume) with The Amsterdam University Press.
