Naseem Abbass - (live performer) is one of the leading theatre actor/vocalist/coach/artistic leaders from Lahore Pakistan. As actor/vocalist, Naseem has performed throughout Pakistan and has extensively toured in India, Japan, Korea, Norway, Egypt, Iran, Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Philippines, Nepal and Bangladesh. He was a part of cross-cultural collaborative theatre project “Cry of Asia 2” organized by the Asian Council for the Peoples Culture, Philippines in 1995 and The Japan Foundations, 5 South Asian Nation Collective Project in 2004/05. For the past 15 years Naseem Abbass had been involved with Madeeha Gauhar´s Ajoka Theatre Group in Pakistan while also working regularly for TV serials. In his artistic research, Naseem has taken intensive workshops conducted by theatre experts from various parts of the world like Bang from Philippines Educational Theatre-1992, Jatinder Verma - director National Theatre Company, England-1992, Stefan Wiefe -1993, Badil Sarkar - India-1994, Daniel Chumby - San Francisco Mime Troupe USA in 1994, Earny from Phillipines - 1996 and Kristin of Tamasha Theatre in England - 2004. Naseem has also been working as a trainer conducting numerous workshops in the various parts of Pakistan and recently he has formed his own community theatre group, which has been producing plays on socially relevant issues with the collaboration of local organizations. Music is also one of the major features of Naseem’s oeuvres. He has recorded three albums and participated in Japan Foundation´s Memories of a Legend project in Tokyo, Kyoto and New Delhi mainly as a vocalist for Ibrahim Quraishi´s collaborative contribution and also in the development of his 5 Streams project and album by Norscq.
